We run a 500 bushel extension on our 2388 and our dealer told us that they wouldn't warranty the front ax. But thats all that I have heard

Can you tell me how you get 500 bu. on a 2388IJ I would like more but can only get 310 with a JandM extension (same as a Maurer) with the 8 inch tip up extensions on the top of it.

My neighbor has had one dealer tell him that bin extensions void the entire powertrain warranty, while another dealer told him that it didn't matter one way or the other. Who do you believeIJ

I think a lot of things have to be considered like tire size, corn head size, hopper size and just plain using comon sence when filling full over ditches water ways rough ground. Then and mostly dealer support. I do not think there has been a red combine sold around here with out a hopper topper of 300bu and a lot of 12r heads and no problems with mine or any body elses I know of.

Thanks for your reply. FYI, my neighbors combine is equipped with duals, 4WD, 3rd lift cylinder and he's running an 8rn cornhead; - I thought he was going to go with a 12 row. As far as common sense is concerned, well, let's just say his 1688 has 2800 engine hours and looks almost like new; - not a dent on it that I could see.
