My vote is for aftermarket, as they are as good or better and at better pricing. loewen usually offers a lot of options_variety to choose from.

From what I have heard in the past, it sounds like aftermarket people are easier to work with when it comes to warranties than the OEMs. From what I hear, OEMs, if you are an hour over warranty date, forget trying to talk to them. Usually aftermarket people will listen and try and work with problems long after warranty is over and if a product problem, will still come through at some extent for a fair settlement. OEM parts warranty usually 90 days, aftermarket parts usual warranty 1 year. Aftermarket people have to work harder for their product than the OEMs, as their goal is to build market share. My guess is fighting the huge OEMs for market share is like fighting city hall, as they own a global market, and have the bucks to control, and have the clout_following similar to a salesman selling freezers to Eskimos, combine owners thinking, whatever OEMs make and supply must be the best.

Will the aftermarket people be there to get you parts at night or on weekends when you really need themIJ We need your business and try to give the extra service that they can't.

lOl my local Fiat dealer closes at 4:59pm weekdays and noon on Saturdays, even during Spring and Fall. I drive to the Deere dealer and they are open 7:30pm or later 7 days a week in the spring and fall. Now what were you saying about wanting us to by dealer partsIJIJ Oh yeah and if you want to pay extra freight and call before 10am you MIGHT get it the next day. My aftermarket companies can do that good or better. Come on CNH.

I don't see how any aftermarket company can begin to service our customers as well as our dealership. We run extended hours during planting and harvest. The parts men carry a cell phone that will ring through from the store phone number after hours and will go to the store at all hours to get parts. The service people are available nights and weekends if needed. I am a service manager and my home and cell phone number are available to all customers also. If our parts department doesn't have the parts on hand, we check to see who does and often go pick it up at no charge if it is something we usually have on hand. Alot of the CNH dealers in Nebraska operate this way, so don't lump them all together because of one dealer that doesn't care about servicing his customers.

We put gordon bars on our 1460, 1480, 1680. They will last the life of the combine and more!

I guess then if I want good red service I need to move to Nebraska. Maybe land rent isn't $200 either lOl

You can rent ground here in some places cheaper than that, but the irrigation costs will sure eat up the difference!
