The wear bars are not meant to reach the edge of the elephant ear. This was done as a way to indicate when the elephant ear is worn out. If the edge of the elephant ear is even with the top of the wear bar, the elephant ear is worn out. likewise, if the front edge of the wear bar is worn back to the elephant ear, the wear bar is worn out. Sounds to me like your elephant ears are in good shape. I wouldn't be afraid of the new wear bars not being long enough. Hope this helps.

loewen sells I believe three different types, and they may be on their webb site, I don't know. I know one of them goes past the end of the elephant ear.
