Combines weight distribution for 2188

I have the weights for our 1680 and I think the 2188 will weigh almost exactly the same amount. The left side is always the heaviest because of the unloading auger. With a 25' 1010 header w_ PU reel and the standard bin (210bu) clear full of wheat, we had 17,620 lbs on the front left tire and 4070 lbs on the rear left tire. This machine has Michelin 1050 tires on the front and Michelin 28lR26 tires on the back, so it will be heavier than a standard machine, but very close to the weight of your machine with floater tires. The 30' head will probably add about 720 lbs to each of the front tires, bringing the total up to 18,340 lbs for your loaded weight on the left front tire. Your rear tires will only see about 3780 lbs. Remember that if you road your machine with the header off, the rear tires pick up a lot more weight. With no header and no grain in the tank, count on each rear tire supporting 4460 lbs. These numbers should be really close. If you are leveraging the added weight of the 30' to remove weight from the rear tires, you should add that weight to the front tires also, should'nt youIJ If you add 720lbs. to the front and unweight the rear by 290lbs., the 290 should be re added to the front. Also, are you running a rock trap when you did this mathIJ I have'nt taken the time to figure slope angles, but I cant help but think its effects on weight distribution would be worth figuring.

I guess I should have mentioned that these numbers are for a machine without rocktrap. I had the empty weight for the front and rear tires with and without the 1010 header. From that I deduced that each pound of header adds 1.68 lbs to the front axle and subtracts 0.68 lbs from the rear axle. A longer head, such as a corn head, would be a little different. But, to answer your question, I was guessing the 30' head to weigh 860 lbs more than the 25'. This adds about 1440 lbs to the front axle, and subtracts 580 lbs from the rear axle. So, the 1440 lbs at the front axle is the sum of the 860 lbs of extra header plus the 580 lbs that came off the rear axle. Since I was giving numbers for each tire, I divided the 1440 by 2 (720) and the 580 by 2 (290). In short, you are exactly right that the rear axle weight has to be added to the front, but I already had that baked into the mix! Excellent question, you are obviously thinking about this problem correctly.
