Everyone that I talked to said the same thing, cost of production vs.price.Not wanting to lose any more before they retire. One farmer said that his long time bank called a loan in last week.

Riceman I have no clue has to what that head is worth. All those guys going to cotton, has anybody penciled the cost of production plus a freaking cotton picker. There is really no way to win.

I know. Who can spend $300,000 for a picker and then still have to get a boll buggy and builder.. But I've seen 12 row planters selling for $25,000 and up. Dang near new prices for these things and any ordinary Joe can buy rice stuff dirt cheap. Our rice acreage will go way down this year and most of the guys in my town are doing the same thing..
