Combines Wet conditions

We use mud hogs on our 9600's and rice and cane tires front and back. We run so much acres with only 2 machines, its hard not to cut when its wet. If the moisture is low enough, we will be cutting. Combines will go pretty much anywhere with the mud hog but we have to be carefull not to get the grain cart and tractor stuck. It also has R and C tires but has an 875 bushel cart behind it. There is not a combine around here(east Arkansas) that has R1 tires. Everybody runs those rice and cane tires. A few run tracks from Gilpert and Riplo and bigger tires on the back. You need the bigger tires on the back just to help it turn because it wants to push itself foward.

A mud hog is just a brand name that we used to put on our combines before Deere offered them. Deere rwa is actually a Mud Hog. They buy them and install at the factory. Gilcreest makes a copy of a Mud Hog.If you were to buy one used, just make sure to get a newer model. The older ones make you loose ground speed when engaged. Deere offers something called a "high speed rwa" where you don't loose as much speed.

Most, when faced with the potential of those conditions, choose a Cat lEXION equipped with Mobile Trac System (MTS) and never worry again.
