Combines What are these two combines worthIJ

I'd ignore the hours, a child can roll back the meters on the 14 and 16 series. The condition of the machines is far more important. I have a hard time believing a 20 year old machine has had that little use. The turf tires lend that their origins are in Southern country. Without fore_aft is unfortunate also. I'd say 20k and 10k is their cash price without knowing their condition, 5k more each if in perfect shape. If you don't need 2 machines, try an older 1680, as it will run rings around them. The hours are correct, the combines were bought from a dealer by the seller of the farmstead, and they have service records and hour recordings of the machines, as they did the annual inspections on them. I currently run a 1440 and 1660 with 3200 and 5500 hours respectively. Neighbor has a 2188 and i can run circles around him with my 2 machines. As long as i have 2 operators (my dad and I) then i think i can harvest my 3000 acres very effectively with these two older machines. Neighbor runs a 30ft flex head at 4 mph with his 2188, i run a 20 and a 25ft at 3.5. I can get a solid 5 aph more than him done in an hour. I've noticed that a 80 series rotor is 30" where mine is 24" which is 20 percent more capacity. And it seems most of the 80 size machines around here run about 20 percent more acres than one of my machines. I admit keeping up 2 heads and 2 machines has its drawbacks, but i still feel i can keep these smaller machines up as cheeply as one newer more expensive machine. This is just my opinion, and i've given it alot of thought. Especially when i see my neighbors driving their new 2388's and 9650's around.

Not only that, but if one machine goes down for a bit, you're still running at 50%. If you only have one machine and it goes down, you're at zero%.

Didn't take into account that you were willing to run two machines at once. I had 1460 for years and was pleasantly surprised with the big increase in capacity when I got a 1680. Went from 4mph on a 20' header to 6.5mph and still couldn't keep the machine full (not liking to go that fast I got a 25'). In my world I just think it's more efficient and cost effective to have one big machine than two medium ones. If a combine is properly maintained, breakdown are few and far between. Either way just do what works for you.
