Combines What is a 6602

a 6602 is just a 6600 with a hillside leveler. Most all parts are interchangable except axles of course. If the number of the machine ends with a "2", it designates a hillside version. Ie: 6620-6622,7720-7722, 9600-9632 Hope this answers your question.

You must be right....I was thinking it was a pull type but I looked through my photo album and the pull type I snapped a shot of years ago is called a 7721. So, I'm going to assume all that end in a "1" is a pull typeIJ

sorry guy- I have a lot of hrs in a 6602 and it is not a pull-type. It is a hillside combine that will level up to 45%. there are still a few running here in eastern washington.

and they had the 404Turbo motor too.

The 6601 was the 66xx pull type. Hundreds maybe thousands around Saskatchewan. I had not heard of a 6602 until I went to Walla Walla a few yrs back and they were all over there. 6600, 6601 PT, 6620,no PT, 7700, 7701 PT, 7720,7721 PT, 9500, 9501 PT(last pulltype JD)No more pull types made now, sad day for small farms. Now they must buy worn out SP's that are too expensive to fix thus the end of small farms.

John Deere also made a 6622, which was a 6620 hillside combine. It was the last full hillside combine that John Deere made from the factory. a 7722 is a hillside 7720 that had a 44% leveler put on it by racho in Spokane, wa. There wasn't very many of those made- I think the figure I heard was like 75. Racho put a 44% leveler on the 9600_9610 and now puts a 44% or 32% on the 9650 and a 32% on the 9750sts.

I am not sure Racho was the sole builder of the 7722's. I was looking through the deere parts book on 7720's and found the complete parts list for the finals, cylinders, lift arms, and frame etc. for the 7722. Doesn't mean racho didn't do it, but maybe deere produced the parts and freighted them to racho for productionIJ Kind of interesting, tho..

next time I'm at my local John Deere Dealer I'll ask them about that. I know the owners and I'm sure they can tell me the relationship between deer and racho on the 7722's.

A 6602 is a hillside combine made by Deere from 1971-1979. It levels to 44% (not degrees) that is a lot further than the 9550 sidehill Deere currently builds. It levels to 18%. When the numbers of combines sold fell in the early 80's Deere looked for a new way to manufacture a hillside combine. They had a joint venture between R.A. Hanson Co. of Spokane Wa. Deere provided an engineer to compliment the staff at R.A.Hanson Co. They built 77 7722's and have since been building 9632's (9600) 9610H (9610) 9650H (9650) and now have a 9750sts with a leveler.
