I am in Devils lake, ND. I will be going on the harvest run again this summer working for Albert Woods Harvesting based out of Crary, ND. Which reminds me, he is in need of 2-4 men to join us on the run this summer. If interested, post here with your email address and where you are from and I'll get back to you. We will be running with 3 2001 2388's, a 2001 MX240 w_grain cart and 4 White tri-ax's trucks.

Hey Red Green last summer we didn't se Mr Woods on the run we were told that his wife had died from cancer and he had got his hand caught in an auger and had quit the businnes I know Mr. Woods and was sad to have heard this. If this was all a vicious rumor I would not be upset because they are good people. We did some work for him one summer in SD because he had to get back to Devil's lake

I think that answer depends on the operation. As for us, we switched over from tandems(with lift axles) to semi's and the 28.5' trailers. While it is true you cannot haul what a 42' can, you can certainly haul more than a tandem w_lift axle. (770 bu.in our case)
