Very similiar in how they would work except 800 would handle the tall heavy crop better. Distance from tip of guards to tip of flighting is the same on both. Many guys have installed reel sweeps for conditions you are in with great luck. Did you install hose trickIJ Check recent talk on this subject on 800 or 8000 head. Rolf has allready addressed that iron that holds down back of feather sheet and that may be just the trick for you. Don't know anything about U2 but do like the HCC level 2 if I couldn't have a Crary air. let us know how you do.

other than the larger auger I think the only other difference is that the 800 series uses variable resistors (reostats) instead of switches for the HHC. I upgraded mine to the reostats and the HHC works much better. I also run a crary air reel and have no problems with feeding.
