OK, how about an R82 with a Cat engine, or a C 82IJOld expression in here is that "it ain't over 'til the fat lady sings". Fellows I'm not sure she is even on stage yet. One more little item to think on here. What happens if CNH decides to tie up the Cummins engineIJ I somewhat like the idea of a "kitty" in an AGCO as opposed to a Cummins.

If you ask total market share, it is poor. A little less than 20%. If you look regionally it is quite respectful. Gleaner sells almost NO combines in the east, southeast and deep south- no dealers. This is a big chunk of the market. I can't do the math but it means some dealers are doing a great job in places where there are dealers. The addition of a Rice_Soybean Gleaner and dealers to sell them would add a chunk, but it will be slow coming. There are NO plans of a CAT engine in any Gleaner sold to Gleaner dealers. IF Cat wanted a yellow Gleaner - a GlellowIJ GlexionIJ Gleaxner IJ GleanerionIJ GleanercatIJ - it would have a Cat eng. and be sold through the Cat dealers. No, Agco dealers will not have exclusive anything. Cat will still sell Cat MT's. They will also have what ever Cat wants to buy from AGCO and paint yellow or 'after futher review' the Cat dealers may choose to add an AGCO contract of White-NewIdea - Fendt- Hesston or what ever. This is what Mr. Ratliff meant by "incremental sales volume". Everyone seems to miss the main point here. Cat is getting IN the AG business... I havn't made my mind up about this yet . Time will tell.

How and why do you think CNH could "tie up" the cummins engineIJ They do not control what cummins does.. And they are probably not even close to Cummins biggest customer.. Please explain.

My understanding is that the CDC engine used in CaseIH tractors is a joint venture owned 50% by CaseIH and Cummins. Why not buy out Cummins stake in line to shut out compititionIJ

In by rebadging big time. I never saw that line of reasoning. like it though. Just what is wrong with a 20% market share if that allows a fair return on investment, coupled with development moneyIJ Stock market does not seem unhappy with AGCO right now.

CNH would never buy out 100% CDC. Even if they did, Cummins still manufacters the 5.9 and 8.3l engines other places.

a little less than 20% that was including all others besides: deere, case-ih, and new holland. Better check your fiqures again. I've never seen more than 12 gleaner combines at once and that was on a lot. oh I have seen three in a seven mile stretch as to seven red ones and 12 greenens
