i have seen the rock trap on the 8010 and the bars don't run straight across they are helical. i think that this would make on hell of a improvement in feeding. just need to fine someone to make it. if anyone has any ideas post back

Replace the smooth rock trap beater blades with the serrated ones, serrated feeds better. If the beater blades are set out on the beater for maximum rock protection the smooth blades won't pull it through fast enough, limiting feeding. If you CUT the beater in HAlF and could reweld it back together so the beater blades on one half would be relocated between the blade on the other half the beater would be smoother___ Kind of like a 6 cylinder compared to a 3 cylinder. Or like the 3 strand feeder chain compared to the 2 strand. Just my thoughts!!

If you could....would you remove the rocktrap for harvesting corn to reduce the cob breakageIJ Thanks for your thoughts on this. Jack

Slow the rock trap beater down to reduce cob breakage. 32 tooth sprocket. Also slide beater extensions IN (wider opening)I feel when the cobs are pulled in by the feeder chain the cobs are parallel to the slats then go through the rock trap beater parallel. The ElEPHANT EARS hit the cobs HARD!! turning the cobs 1_4 turn (and breaking them) then the cobs travel parallel with the rotor. The auger front (AFX) should be "easier" on the cobs. Is it true the 8010 rock beater is spiral (like an old reel push mower)IJIJIJ Does the spiral go just one wayIJIJIJ(that would move the grain sideways)

Silver Bullet, Just one additional question. I tend to get corn husks that stick under the top drive sprocket on the right side of the feeder house. Is this a commen thing that happensIJ Thanks for your help. Jack
