You create a wedge when you 0 out the concave at the top (rear). For original setting when the top of the concave is as close to 0 as possible the bottom in the mid position will be approx. .44". Picture a upside down V starting at the top to the bottom. On my cdf I set the bottom slightly more open,then .44 (I have the hump on the rock door). You must have a proper wedge to thresh properly!
