I always like to idle clear down before engaging the seperator. The only time I engage it at 1_2 or full throttle, is when the rotor's plugged, after I have cranked open the concave. I just hold my breath then!!

I always idle all the way down before engaging. On my 2188, rotor belts at 247.00 and gear box at 4,273.03. If it plugs, i clean it out by hand first.
