For an 84 N5 with heads, $10-15k should be the price for the package. Going from a K2 to an N5 is a massive jump. As time goes along and repairs are needed, work on updating to the Hyperizing mods. Well worth the time and money. Engines were not much of a problem on the N5, but the 2500-3000 hr underhaul is well with it too. An 84 most likely has the long throat and will pick up much newer heads than the machine's age, making changing heads or trading much easier. Good luck!

thanks. This machine will probably be sold sometime during the winter, so I may bid on it. I know it's a big jump from a K2, but locally, I would pay the same for an F3 (assuming I could find one). I'd like to get the biggest bang for my buck.

I have a 1982 N5 and I love it!!!!!! I just wish it had the new style throat though. These combines are well worth the money. Once you have a rotary you will never want to go back. I was fortunate enough to find a late model head with the old style latches. Spallenger Combine Parts foud me the Deutz-allis head for it. If you have any questions about the machine you are looking at they are real good about helping you. They also have a wonderful parts inventory. They advertise in the Fastline Magazine. Good luck with the bidding, Ihope you get it. Mike
