Combines What s the best rear wheel axle height setting on a R52IJIJ

The rear axle is set in the high position making the combine 4.5 inches higher in the rear than the front. If I move to the lower position, the back end should drop 3 inches according to the manual. All the manual says about set up is that the machine should be as close to level as possible. Thanks for any advice in advance.

My opinion would be mostly level for rotor machines. I believe the '96 R52 would have long shoe like the big brothers got in '96 and the chaffer already runs up hill quite noticeably. I have heard of and seen the guys with old conventionals install tall rear tires on rear to tip walkers and shoe uphill more.

That's looks like what I'm going to do. We just got rained out for a few days. Finished shelling corn and wanted to do it before getting into beans. looks like a big job. Will post to let you know how it turns out. Thanks for the comment.
