A brand new R62 should work. If you think you want 330 hp, go with a 72 but the new R62 has 285 hp with a 305 hp boost available for unloading on the go so it should suit your needs. I would suggest ordering the following to complement your corn_soybean version: chopper, extended cylinder bars (standard equipment for 2001 models but not for 2000 models),high wire separator grate (a must-have for corn harvesting),lateral tilt, 3 1_2" lift cylinders, electric concave adjustment, Fieldstar is far better than any precision farming system out there so don't even think about Ag leader... go Fieldstar, 14 inch unload tube available for 2001 Custom Harvester versions for faster unloading, duals are definitely nice, powered ladders I don't think are necessary but it's your choice, and finally, the E-Z close rock door is something you'll appreciate. Much improvement from the old systems. Hope this helps. Enjoy your new Gleaner!!

What makes FieldStar better than AgleaderIJ We put a PF3000 into our R-72 this season and liked it. What am I missingIJ I tried to get some answers from AGCO as to why I should buy FieldStar but never seemed to get the "right" guy when I called. I would have preferred a FieldStar because I have a great AGCO dealer, but I guess I was a little scared with him having no experience with one. Please give me specifics! Thanks

A R6277 has most options included such has chopper, auto reel speed, fore and aft reel, heavy final drives, 300 bu. grain tank, extended cyclinder bars and the ever so important leather wraped steering wheel. A few options available are tire size, duals are a must in my opinion for a 30 ft head. lateral tilt is not worth the money if your ground is relatively flat. It can always be field installed later if you feel the field lost is too great. I agree that the concave door closing kit is a good idea. It saves time and knuckles. By the way I have a 2000 R6277 to sell. It has duals and only 6.7 sep hrs.

With the combine equipped with duals, using an 8-30 cornhead, the powered ladder is almost a necessity as the ladder sticks out past halfway from the last cut row to the next standing row. So on any close guess row you will knock down the next row. Also, the ladder will stick out beyond the cornhead by about 6" or so. So you have to remember that just because the cornhead clears an object, the ladder may not!
