Combines what to check on a CTS IJ

My cts combines have tended to show the same wear in a lot of areas as a 95-9600 would. The tines on the separator will wear and need replacing at some time. I ordered the new v wing beater that goes into the 9650cts and put it in as well as the new notched impeller paddles and new feed floor at the bottom front of each rotor. Check that the coupler between tine separator gear boxes is not too worn. It will eventually wear out the input shaft drive for the 2nd gearbox, but it is not too hard to change. A worn concave and rub bars is not near as important in a cts as a conventional walker machine. If it has the fine cut chopper, it will require new hammers quite often. In my area most of the combine parts need replacing at about 1500 hours. So with 3000 hours you may be looking at machines that are needing lots of parts replaced ( ie. double the 1500 hr wear out),or you may find machines that the previous owner just spent a pile of money on and most things are replaced. look the tires over carefully. I find that they are one of the more expensive items.
