Most guys in Iowa use a Kelderman down corn reel made in Oskaloosa, Iowa. I'm sure you could get one from them and I have heard that they work quite well. Obviously you are much farther away then their usual customer, but they can ship it I'm sure. Another option is to try and find one closer to you as I believe the reel is the same for all the combines they make they only change the mounting brackets and then you could have them UPS the brackets only. Man I feel sorry for ya!! had some down corn last year myself just lays on the head and won't move I borrowed a head with a corn reel on it, it worked but it was sure slow 1 mile an hour or less but it did work have seen them advertised in prairie farmer and other magazines, it may be slow but it works better than your grain head good look and be careful it's not worth losing a limb or life for, sorry don't know company names tried looking for the ads but can't find them now if I do I'll post back good luck! John, Have you taken your ear savers off the headIJ This may help it slide on in. Mine was pretty bad also but have been able to get most of it. Also my seed dealer felt so bad he came over yesterday morning and ran the l2 while I was at work....have you tried that yetIJIJIJIJIJ Good luck regardless I know it is very frustrating.

Had a neighbor build them for his machines for considerable less money than they could be bought. He used the hydraulic reel drive motor off of his rigid head.

I used to be a guy who said corn reals were for red and green machines, not hugger heads. We'll last week we had wind near our farm clocked at 92 mph. We had 250 acres of corn that was on the ground, either bent over 6" above the ground or blown out by the roots. The first day back in the field we shelled 2 tandem loads of corn with an R72 and 8 row head. Monday we drove to Heritage machine shop in Bloomington Il and picked up a well built reel for $1800. We put it on Monday evening and yesterday we shelled almost 7000 bushels of corn from that same field. Prior to the reel we had one guy walking along the machine moving less than 1 mph. Now we are running 2.5-3mph in the worst spots and 3.5-4.5mph in most areas. Don't delay, get one today. The folks at Heritage were real helpful and they have them ready to go.
