I'd think it was too much too. I bought the a 4400 diesel with the rotory screen,straw chopper, last year they made 4400, (cant remember what year that was). 444 corn head, and 213 flex head for $6000, used it first year this fall, and it never got hot or anything, a bearing went out in the cleaning fan, and messed things up a little, but after I fixed that, it ran real good, did about 400 acres of beans and corn with it. Only bad thing I guess I'll have to live with is in 1_2 mile rows in corn, I have to go one way cause it wont make a round, if its real good corn, it wont even make it through the field I dont think, but this year you didnt have to worry about that.

Rich ditto with the other gent's comments. Older 6620s with heads can be purchased at that price in Indiana. I personally would offer $5,000 and then see what price the seller re-offers. If you are interested, a farmer just west of Indy has an immaculate 1976 4400 with both heads for sale. Email me if you want more information. He never mentioned a price but I bet he would sell it for far less than $15,000.

If I can find a good used 6620, I have a 4400 just like the one you looked at that I will sell you for $6500. It has 2000 hrs on it, has been kept in an enclosed Butler building, and owner operated since dad bought it new in 73. The flat screen is not a problem unless the radiator boils over, or gets a leak. Antifreeze is sticky and acts like a magnet for soybean dust. The screens on the front of the engine box are smaller than the space between the fins on the radiator so anything that gets sucked in should blow right through the radiator. We made a wand out of copper tubing that fits on the air gun that makes it much easier to blow the radiator out.

That seems pretty high priced. The 215 flex header in very good condition will bring up to $3000 by itself. The wide row corn head in my area will only fetch $1500-$2000 because nearly everyone uses narrow rows. The combine's value depends both on appearence and hours on the machine. A 2000 hour 4400 normally runs $4000 tops. Not having the rotary screen really takes off the price. like I said these prices are TOP dollar. You can mount a rotary screen on it. JD did make a kit but I doubt you could get one today. Most older machines I have seen have a free spinning rotary screen off a Gleaner mounted on them. Then all you have to do is make a bracket with a slot for the gleaner screen to drop into and install a later year fan as its blades are turned the oposite angle to move the air the other dirrection. If the hours are not to high and you know it was very well taken care of then I would not be afraid of paying up to $8000 for the set. Although some other posts mension that you can find older 6620_7720 in near this price range most of them will be 4000-5000 hour machines. I have looked at quite a few. You just cannot seem to find low hour larger machines and most of the high hour machines are not in the sort of condition that I would spend money on thinking I could use it for 5 years or more.

Around 60,000$ if it really is field ready.I've personally never seen field ready equipment as everyone's idea's differ.If it's at an auction I'd expect it to sell for alot less probably in the 40,000$ range as money is getting harder to find lately.
