I am very curious to find out how much you farm, being a fourth generation farmer and all because from what you have written it does not sound like you are much of a farmer at all or come from a strong farm family. Where did you come up with going down the road at 15 mphIJ Combines go 18.2 mph and any John Deere tractor produced in the last 30 years will go at least twenty (Road speed for the 8960 that I was driving when the accident occurred is 24-26 mph). What is a paddockIJ In the southern plains we have quarters, half sections and I must admit you are the first farmer(IJ) that I have heard refer to farmland as a paddock. After reading your message I think you should be informed that it is easier to PUll a plow with a tractor than to drive a plow. I believe you didn't get support from older farmers on this issue because the majority of true farmers started off early as well. My dad started driving tractor and combines when he was 8 or 9! I have talked to most all of the 30-40 year old farmers I know about this issue and I did not find a single one who didn't start driving tractors and combines in the field and on the road by the age of 9-11. Have a nice day and by the way at the top of your message you mispelled my posting name for the talk show!

Well, you got me on all counts. You are an expert on machinery speed, terminology, and the technicality's of plowing, not to mention spelling of course. Not sure what your quarters and half sections are, quarter acre and half acre I suppose. Check the dictionary for the word paddock. We have 48 of them, average of 372 acres (measurement of area). While in the dictionary check the word masturbate.

Paddock - 1. a small field or enclosure near a stable, in which horses are exercised 2. an enclosure at a race track, where horses are saddled and walked before a race 3. in Australia, an enclosed piece of land. (Websters New World Dictionary) Where are you located and if not in Australia is paddock the common word that refers to farmland in your areaIJ A quarter is 160 acres (one quarter of a square mile section of land) and a half-section is 320 acres (one half of a square mile section of land) lets try to only argue on the subject of farming and stay away from sexual matters.

I'm pleased to see that you took the time to look. That is the same explanation, word for word, that appears in my Collins English Dictionary. Now we are straight on the land side of things.Yes we are in Aussie,so I guess there are going to be some difference's.I prefer to call it a debate, but of course that can end up in a argument. MMMM,it is good to be civilized again. Good luck.

Hey OZ! YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT A QUARTER SECTION IS!!..Yeh,you know your farming..In the midwest farmers like me don't use these terms as much as on the plains, but everyone knows what it means!!Oh yeh,I started driving tractors when I was 7-8..So did my dad, friends, neighbors, and everyone I know..You start off your kids in a open field, then the gravel roads for a while, then some pavement.Thats if the kid is responsible enough.. Your kids must not be responsible enough..

my closest call was when i was 14 and driving a john deere 4240. i was towing harrows up side down over clover vine and i was in d4(top gear). so i was going along at about 30kmph and i drove over a large lump od compacted dirt. and then the tractor was on two wheels for about 2 seconds but i didnt tip it over but the tractor was fine after that
