What was your moistureIJ Cutting heightIJ Was your field highway smoothIJ 1_2 mile fields or lessIJ DockageIJ Cracked grainIJ Header lossIJ All anyone seems to care about is how fast it will go. I want to know whats my profit per acre, not did I get done an hour sooner and leave 2, 3 or more bushels laying on the ground when I was done.

nobody talks about losses or conditions - you won`t believe that only to blow up the horsepower reduces the losses in wet conditions! Cat or Claas should think about changing the kind of threshing and leave the APS! the second question is how much can this combine do in high moisture maize with this little loading auger (480 had 70tons_hour - i think the new one does about 110) - so you will only need 8 or nine rows to make the auger full! greetings from europe

The conversion factor is 14.5 Means 10 t_ha * 14.5 = 145 bu_acre assuming wheat at 60lbs per bushel.

hey we did a record with a real combine not just a machine with more horsepower and cracks on the hopperwindow like a lexion does. how many straw did they get thru who controlled there losses. i was going beside 480s 2003 they had in try straw losse over 3 procent and that with 42 tons a hour. the sts was going with 62tons and 0,5 losses at the same field the same header and no smallwire concaves. the lexion was filled up with cracks on the hopper window. i have seen to many of these lesbians so what did they change on a 580 to go over 70 or 75 tons a hour thats impossible. open your eys guys. NOTHING RUNS lIKE A DEERE -----AND NOTHING IS GONNA STOP US

that's funny in our area it's the other way around sts running with high losses in try straw and lexion with lowe losses even a NH does a better job then a STS only JD driver can't see it

i worked a couple sommers for a customcutter with 480s most of the drivers cant adjust a combine in diffrend contitions, specially in try staff. but tell me a reason wy seedgrowers and maltbarly producers trade 480s for a sts. just open the tailing door on the elevator on both machines.filled up with cracks(480)than the guys speed up the fan and blow all cracks out of the back just look on the ground. a demo is just as good as the demodriver. wy is claas working and testing on a rotarycombine. when a lexion 480 passes a 9880 is it time to replace the operator or show him to operate a sts. operating a sts is easy when you understand how the machine works. regards ps. where you from

operating any combine is easy when you understand how it works if the 480 is filling the returns with cracked grain the operator needs sorting not the combine increace concave gap etc dont blame the combine. if the returns are that full then you also must be smashing the straw to dust and overloading the seives thus slowing the machine down reducing output. we grow around 800ac of malting barley and never had grain rejected because of cracked or skinned grain we also run 2 480,s1 2002 1 2003 and have been working with claas combines now since 1996 we had some mods done to the 2003 machine to increase capicity it is not hard in the right conditions to sit these machines especially 2003 model on 65+tons_hour and i know because i drive it
