Combines Wheat settings 1660

Well, if you don't want to put in some small wire concaves then I would definitely get some filler plates for the front concave. Other settings I would start out with rotor speed @950, concave @1-2, air speed on high. Don't close your cleaning sieve too tight or it will choke off air to the chaffer. Good luck!

Thanks for the help I will check on a set of filler plates tomarrow. One thing I forgot to add is that all wires are in the concaves with the exception of the rear concave. The rear half of the rear concave has every other wire removed. Appreciate your help!

Aaron, I ran cover plates last year and they really help with large wire concaves. Ran them in beans as well. Andy I'm buying a set up disrupters after wheat and installing for beans. Also going to try a set of grain grabers. They were in the last edtion of Marketplace the supplement that comes in Farmworld. I had trouble with my bean head feeding last year in down beans with green stems.

Thanks for the comments Andy. I am going to check on the price of the cover plates. Those disrupters are a must have! Wish I had time to install a hilco fan kit! The ends of the head are the spot I have problems. They sit in bunches until a gob goes thru that will pucker you up! Do not like green beans!

Aaron, yeah I have the same thing with my head as well. Neighbor has a JD9600 with a 30 foot head and he showed me a trick he has used for the same problem. Take a piece of belt about 6-8 inches long and bolt it to the gusset holding the auger flighting out on the end where you have the problem. Says it helps ever so slightly by moving the "pile" of beans and tends to then let the auger catch them and pull them in. Poor mans finger. The grain grabers are cheap so I think I'll try a set anyway. Also had thought about trying a set of sererated feeder chain bars. Good luck with the wheat harvest. Andy
