It would seem to me that the other brands have to start cutting circles around Gleaner first. The guys at AGCO dont have to worry until that happens. Tom in MN

JCGREEN you guys break me up.Why do you feel the need to try and downgrade the R72.JD finally releases a rotary and all of a sudden they are the greatest.Yes i have worked a 9750 and it is good but lets have it out in the field for a while before before it is granted divine status. Before the 480 Cat was released a Cat engineer was talking to me about how they used the R72 as a benchmark for their testing.A friend of mine has had the N.H. prototype running with his Deeres and he really likes it but it's still just a TR99 with a great new look and more H.P.plus a few other things The 2000 model R72 is changed a lot from the 1992 version perhaps gleaner should have changed a panel and called it the R73,R63 after all they have upgraded engines, shoe size amonst other things.Yes a new cab would be nice(a recliner chair doesn't fit in the current one) and yes i would love to see the new model out but there is no problem with the current machines keeping the others honest.john.

So, where are these "monsters" you refer toIJ The biggest Deere currently has is a class VII, Axial is only a class VI. All I've heard to this point are rumors of higher capacity machines. When we see them on the market, you can then question the manhood of the Gleaner line like we did of the Deere line for nearly 20 years from 1979 until a couple of years ago. RememberIJ I'm sure you do!

Grain bin size my man, horse power - nope; CapacityIJ not a thing to do with it. Grain bin size tis the ticket of the ratings game. Of course one has to have the ability for the machine to carry say 330 bushels.... Beleive me. If a mfg. could stand a grain bin size of 350 bushels w_o posing a warranty problem, it would have a 350 bu bin! Makes one wonder about those big combines with little bitty bins!

If you remember John Deere came out with the 9000 combines in 89 they just come with the new ones in 2000 so thats 11 years. Gleaner came with the 2 series in 92 so to me they have 3 more years to come out with there new combine. But I'm with you they will keep losing market share if they don't come with a new model. Because people like something new. As for the circles they have been cutting aruond the 72 what is it your refering to that has been doing that the last 8 yearsIJ They just now caught up to the 72 in my opinion. And that took 20 years. John Ferguson
