Did that to a 50 and two 62's without the high-low setup ,worked well to slow down rotor loss. they had 8 bar rotor with last bars extended into discharge. did not seem to help the cdf machine(other 62) to much. maybe to much clearance in the seperator sideIJ all running without reverse bars.

Thanks Possum, ON the 50 did you remove the reverse bars and run forward bars or do you leave them blankIJ Thanks ID for the help getting something started.

That 50 had all forward bars,no blanks. Seemed to help keep stuff moving in soybeans. The last setup had the steep helicals on thresher side, triangle plate in the corner and bars extended into discharge. We got almost 5000 hrs. out of the machine before trading for a 62. did a good job for us.

lost interest in about December last year, 2008. [ Australian harvest period. ] 5 tonnes [ 200 bus. ] of lentils off 1,200 acres and 260 tonnes [ 9,500 bus. ] of wheat off another 1,200 acres. That's it! That was the 2008 harvest. Full on drought in 2008, about the third really bad one we have had in the last 15 years. Have not reached our long term rainfall totals of 400 mms [ 16 inches ] since 1996 with most years at or below the 12 inch mark. On heavy grey cracking clays that rainfall just does'nt make a crop. Has been a very bad run for us in western Victoria in the Aussie south east.

HI guys! I got lost! Been very busy with "non-work" related items. that has kept me very distracted! I am curious also. Well more that curious, I am very interested in doing this!. I want to do the mods to our R42. all I got done this summer so far was to pull out every other wire in the grate. Before we got into wheat. I am very curious about modifying the system, but I am one of those guys that needs to see it and feel it with my hands to be able to do something of this nature. the question I have always had with the F bars is does this change the "clearance settings" on the grateIJ Then with our smaller processor, do we remove every other row of barsIJ or leave them all in and replace just the reversersIJ Here around lincoln, NE, most of us think this fall is going to be a drawn out harvest (crops are slow to mature),and the weather is not going to cooperate! Thanks, ps someone; please kick me if I fall a sleep again!

Did my long shoe R52 about 4yrs. ago. If I would have know about it when we bought the machine new, I would have done it then. Did mine exactley the way hyper mods recomend, both cage and rotor. Green stem beans go through much easier and you don't bust up as much cob in corn.
