Everyone is trying to trade their Cat in. Some may even have had a stroke when they found out what they were worth compared to what they paid for them. local Case dealer has a 465 with heads and 1200 hours. Was asking $125,000, now said he'd take $90,000 if he new he could get rid of it.

The CIH dealer obviously does not understand the value of a lexion and therefore is unable to market its strengths. When you have a particular product in inventory (whether new or used) that has a proven value of out performing comparable, cometitive products in perofmance, capacity and efficiencies and is also supported by an elite network of advanced service and parts providers, I would be kicking myself for being such a fool for not relaizing my marketing shortfall by keeping such a premium product in inventory beyond the short-term.

Machine is in Hamel Il ricght on I55 north of St. louis. Fabick is the local cat dealer and they word from AGCO is they are not going to sign on for the Challenger series. Everyone is aware of this which leaves parts and servive in limbo big time. Secondly, when Claas screws it up as they did in the past these things will be dinasaurs, just like the Commander on fabicks lot they can't sell for $8,000. Now before you take offense, I have run a lexion and the mobil trac is awesome and their capacity is probably second to none, especially in wheat. However, we are in corn and bean country and the Cat is not much better than the Deere or Gleaner for the huge price difference. Even if you can afford to buy it you have the whole parts and service dilema. Farmers in this area will not pay shop rates that the cat dealers charge for construction equipment. In this area the Cat was a fad that has passed, right or wrong. Most that were sold here have been traded in and re sold out west.

I drove by there recently, and this same dealer seems to have quite a few Quadtracks that he can't get his price for, either. I don't think that used combine prices of any color have been very strong this year. lots of bargains out there.

Just heard that a fellow had to pay $4,400 ($2,800 U.S.funds) for a rim that he split on his 480 up here in Canada. Someone please tell me that this price is not true.
