STXman, I'm in central SD along the customer-cutter route. I'd have to say probably the most common tractor I've seen on grain carts the last 2-3 years would be the 9330 CaseIH_Steiger. Even though they are somewhat underpowered(same engine as a 8940 CaseIH Magnum tractor),they have some advantages. With these 1000+ grain carts anymore, an MFD of about any color can struggle with those big carts, whereas the 4WD can handle them a lot better. Also, most of our Quadtracs(dozen or so) pull a grain cart during harvest anymore as people like their flotation and low compaction when running around a big field for any length of time. Have seen several Cat Challengers, John Deere row-crop tracked tractors, and many others pull grain carts, but in my travels this is what I see most. HTH
