I run 3 840 kinze wagons 1 behind mx 270 1 behind a 9350 steiger and the other behind 8950 magnum the mx has just as much power as the 9350 but the 9350 handles it better cause it is a heavier machine i would rather run the 9350 than the other 2

to pull our kinze 800 with 100 bu extension we use our deere 4850's wich works great unless we see alot of mud our 4 wheel drives don't have pto besides they're buisy ripping. when it gets muddy we put put our steiger on our kinze 450c (hyd drive) otherwise its on our big 2 wheel drive tractor(with duals of coarse)

STXman, I'm in central SD along the customer-cutter route. I'd have to say probably the most common tractor I've seen on grain carts the last 2-3 years would be the 9330 CaseIH_Steiger. Even though they are somewhat underpowered(same engine as a 8940 CaseIH Magnum tractor),they have some advantages. With these 1000+ grain carts anymore, an MFD of about any color can struggle with those big carts, whereas the 4WD can handle them a lot better. Also, most of our Quadtracs(dozen or so) pull a grain cart during harvest anymore as people like their flotation and low compaction when running around a big field for any length of time. Have seen several Cat Challengers, John Deere row-crop tracked tractors, and many others pull grain carts, but in my travels this is what I see most. HTH

stxman: As the cart operator I like the Case with power shift it is really nice for chasing down the combines. But when cutting in the mud or in the snow the 4wd is nice for puling thru those bad spots. The 4wd is sits up higher and is alot easier to see when dumping on the run at night.
