Which rotor is the best well all I can tell you is to buy the best rotor machine on the market a cat.Then you want have to change rotors for diffrent crops.

Sorry that's a wrong answer in my book, I know I can't justify the cost of a Cat machine when I am only running a 1000 acres a year. I am sure they are a good machine but not for me.

Why cant people just leave it be and answer the questions in a manner what the person wants them answered in. If this fellow wanted to know wich combine would suit him better the cat or the case that would be the question he would have asked, then you can step up to the plate and brag all about the cat combine. All brands are fine machines in their own ways and some suite others needs in other ways. I myself have caseih combines and I dont have to change rotors for different crops as you say. I cut all different crops from wheat,barley,oats,canola,edible beans,soybeans,milo,millet,and corn and have never had any problems turning out a very satisfying sample both in the tank and on the ground. I guess that is why my family has customers what we have cut for for 26+ years. As far as the other person wanting a decent answer to a decent question, I have ran both the standard and the specialty rotors and I would say it is six of one and a half dozen of another on which one is better. I know on the specialty rotor I was glad I ran into and met Mr.gorden and the fact that he convinced me to use his product, it did make a day and night difference on how that machine performed especially in tougher threshing conditions. Today I am back to the standard rotor just because of the way I have traded machines the last few years, but I am getting ready to purchase another 2388 what is equipped with a specialty rotor. So as soon as I get headed south for next years wheat harvest I will get with marvin and have him get all the components I need to make that baby perform. If you do go with the specialty rotor I would suggest giving marvin a buzz and pick his brain a little bit on how to get the maximum performance out of it. He not only has the Gorden bars but a new style concave and a few other harvesters tricks up his sleeve to make the red ones shine. Granted they may not outperform the CAT but they shouldnt as for they are not even in the same class category. You can make the Caseih just as competetive as any other comparible class combine on the market, and probably for the least amount of money................
