in a cold frame? I live in a pretty temperate climate and just decided to throw one together with some leftover lumber and glass. What should I plant inside? Am I right in thinking that I shouldn't start with seeds this time of year?
It's not too late to grow some things from seed, if your ground is still warm enough. That's especially true for fast growers like radishes and greens.
Herbs, onions, garlic, spinach, kale, greens, small things like that grow well in a cold frame. You obviously wouldn't try anything that needs a ton of space.
What is a cold frame? I wouldn't plant any seeds right now, at least not here. We are getting pretty cold at night (temps in low 40s). People are getting pumpkins and winter squash still from the garden here.
Where do you live? I would say any "winter" vegetable would be okay. So onions, cabbage, squash - that sort of thing. If you plant, let us know how you make out.
