depends on what combine spreading what. I have a 1680 with 2388 spreaders with a speed up pulley and curved bats. I am happy with how it spreads wheat and barley straw and chaff to 30' plus

What is different about the spreaders of a 2388IJ How do you convert the spreaders of a short seive 1680 to that of a 2388IJ

You can get a retrofit kit from Case to put the spreaders on a long sieve machine. check with your local dealer sales dept. Dutch kirby does a good job but why add all that extra plumbingIJIJ simple is best.

We have affectionately named our spreader "Kirby" and have had to chew on kirby a time or two. The main problem is the windrowing on the right side of the machine, mainly in tough conditions and mainly with barley. The chaff will come off the pan, miss kirby, fall on the axle and fall to the ground in bunches. Dang you Kirby! Have tried several tips and tricks. When kirby works he does a good job though.

We have run Kirby's on '88's for years, have the separate hydraulic system, and to stop stuff from being thrown over the backhave a deflector plate directly above the Kirby directing everything down directly into the cone. It thows 40' plus in dry wheat. We have just traded up to and are running a 40' front, but are giving the standard spinners a go this time, but if they don't spread any better the kircby is goin straight back on.
