altendorf runs a lot of combines, but i don't know how they stay in business. their machines are low houred and beat all to hell at the end of one season, and they hire a bunch of rejects to help them, and their trucks are junk too. I know the guy they cut for in wimbledon,nd he kicked them off his place last year for doing a bad job of harvesting his cropIJIJIJIJIJ who knows, oh well later AZCUTTER

I want to make it clear that I'm not a "reject"!! I worked for Altendorfs on harvest 2002,the person who bought my 02 9650sts got a well looked after and serviced combine as where the rest of the guy's machines on my crew.Yes the trucks are "rough" but its takes more than a Reject to drive and maintain an older truck, and as was pointed out to me, its the COMBINES that make the money and not the trucks!!! Also you don't see Altendorf's having to come onto these boards and others advertising for harvest workers, maybe thats because they don't think $1600_month with room+board is a good wage.My best pay was 3700_month and some of the truckers regularly got over $4000.Now give me a choice between the cutter with the used combines and nice shiny trucks who pays $1600_1800 a month or Altendorf'sIJ Easy decision for me!!! Because they are the biggest it means they're up there to be knocked down!!!

Big Truck I'am sorry if i offended you, I should have said that they have had a few rejects from time to time, But then again we all get that once in a while. The machines i looked at were at RDO in breckenridge and they were badly beat up, that was in 2001 they were 9750's. where do you work now,are you farming, just curious good luck azcutter

Its alright Azcutter,no offence taken us N.Irish have thick skins!!! Yeah,Still working for an Agri contractor here in Northern Ireland,We run JD tractors and Claas harvesting equipment and we're just about to get started into the main Spring season by starting to seed spring barley.Been mostly truck driving over the winter and taking exams to become an owner operator in the fall (alot more exams involved over here!!) Some of the N.Irish guy's are going back to Altendorfs at the end of this month and this will be their 3rd season with them, one friend is over there at the minute helping a farmer in Mott, S.W. ND to get ready for seeding before going on to Altendorfs to help with servicing for harvest.Jan Altendorf herself is coming over to visit with us over Easter this year for a short vacation so she's spending some time in Dublin before coming up to Belfast. On another note, have been contacted by a large American company about "my Crew" of harvest operators going out to Indonesia to work with the local population and teach them to operate large harvest_seeding machinery for a few years. There will eventually be 500'000 arable acres to farm,JD company are supplying all the machines and Ford motor company are supplying the pick-ups.One year contracts are being offered and the pay is $5600_month!!!!! I think it was advertised for quite awhile on AG.com.
