Combines Who s runnin HoneyBee sIJIJ

We tried a auger head and a honey bee in the same paddock on the same combine and because of the smooth flow to the combine we gained almost a mile per hour and less grain loss.Also the honey bee is paying for itself as we have done a lot of swathing sorghum stubble for hay this year.We are very happy with the cutting system (hydraulic drive)and it's able to cut very low to the ground.I wish we had one for our R72.john

They are junk compared to a macdon header . I had one an a wdx 1101 and it cut nice but shook to pieces because the double knife drives are hydraulic and not timed and sometimes the knife is all going to one side then they are going away from each other it is a real mess. The first thing to crack are the guages and the hydraulic motor mounting brackets on the header. Had macdon and now i am going back. Thank goodness i got good money on a trade in at a dealer.Chuckle Chuckle

I have run a honeybee on a Case 2188 It is a good header. Feeds excellant and seems to be reliable. Not so with the MacDon headers though the new model MacDons are supposed to be improved.

I have two 972 Macdon's I do not think there is anything out there that can match them, in all aspects with one exception the PU reel. The honey bee's pick-up reel is lighter and not a two piece reel, granted its a tough reel. I do not like the flip over action of the Mac Don PU reel. The extra lift in the middle is mechanically more complicated. You have to phase out the lift and foreandaft cylinders daily.

hello I am running two 36 foot HB's for 2 Yrs now and i won't give them up for any thing. We have gained almost 1.5 -2 mph faster on your two R72 over auger headers. Best buy for my money
