The 3" knives and guards will let the beans travel farther into the section, especially in 15" and narrower beans. We had one on a 25' head at I really liked it on 15" beans. You can get a better cut and not push beans down with the 1.5" sections_guards. What I liked about the SCH is the ease of changing a section and not having to mess with shimming the holddowns or having spring tension on the sections like the Crary.
