Combines WHY ARE UNlOADING AUGERS SO lOWIJIJIJIJ

I hear that complaint all the time but we run a R62 and R72 and dump in our grain cart on the go and have never came close to hitting it. we also dump into 500 bu kilbros wagons not even close to the wagon when auger is all the way out and have dumped in semis as well.Does my combines have a longer auger then normalIJIJ Or does everyone run small headsIJ I cant get close enough for the auger to touch anything low with my 12 row head.And if you need to raise it a little turn your auto to manual if your dumping on the end so it dont go down as far.If isnt down far enough it wont come on anyway, or if you accidentlly hit your swing when your unloading it should kick out automatically.Gleaner has the most simple, cheapest for repairs, and uses the least hp of any unloading auger on the market. I wouldnt take a turrent on my combines if they were the same price ,and they arent the turrent is a 3500dollar option. just my 2 cents IllINOIS GlEANER

Are you able to dump in the middle of the wagon if you can't get close

Yep it sure is the best for repairs. keep it simple. I too would'nt have a turrent.

Bert the auger on your r50 is about 3 feet shorter than that on an r62.. Just look at the two set side byside... The r62 has an extension placed, between the galvanized tube and the swivel.. Yours is basicly the same as an n6 or n7.. You can buy a longer auger kit from Abilien machine called "the extender".. I am not sure about the $$$$.. I had a customer put it on his n7.. he seemed happy with the new hieght but the balance of the new assebly was a it off... If you go with "the extender" besure to the auger cradel is as far back as possible, his was an early n7 and the cradel is in front or right on top of the rear tire, with the new longer auger ther is more auger from the cradel out ot he end, wich tends to bend the auger on rough ground.. If you want me to, I could round up some pic's and e-mail them to you, might take a couple days but is do-able.

Bert, It could be longer, but dont need anymore clearance. If it were longer the guy driving the cart wouldnt have to drive about 1 foot away from the outside snout. But once you get on the row you just watch that not the cornhead. Not a problem with the middle I can even spill it on the other side belief me I tried it a few times this year with the corn testing 13 and 14 % moisture out of the field. Go with Gleaners cylinder end cap first for it has a dampening devise built into it to prevent violent end of stroke.
