Exactly! Contours and turns mash corn on the outer snouts. Shortening them reduces the problem considerably. Because the end snouts are the same ones that are on the regular hugger head and someone else is making the center snouts for them. Deere had the same problem originally, but they started making their own. They are shorter, and they work way better.
Bolt a 1 inch pipe under the snout extending forward to same length as middle snouts.Pipe should run under edge from gathering chain to point. Use small enough bolts so they will shear off. Curve the pipe up on the end a little. Make the pipe extend farther forward if you really want to pull it in! Curved stalks etc.
