From a business aspect I can understand why they only offer the red and green, 60% of agco business is overseas, canada, and south america. I think as agco works on gaining more business in north american you might see them offer it in north america if they are still around. Its is just better business sense for them to offer the most popular colors where they do business. I run gleaners so Im not putting agco equipment down, its just the way it is.

I have a very good friend who is an AGCO dealer and he priced them combines several years ago. AGCO Finance wanted a personal guarantee on the note, and Machinery link would not provide one is the reason they do not have any Gleaners

That's really sad as I'd think it would gain AGCO a little business as a Machinerylink customer or a friend of the customer would see how good the combine is and maybe purchase one on their own.

I agree with first coment.Also have a friend who is a Agsco dealer and he said the same thing.Sounds like they are alittle shaky financialy.

Because they always break down and have rotor loss and have very few good dealer's to baby sit them.

Grow up. In my opinion, Gleaner may not have very many dealers but the ones they do have left are the cream of the crop.

I conveniently had the opportunity to work as Field Operations Manager for Machinerylink during 2003. I would say that agcntry observation is not correct. If AGCO Finance required a personal guarantee, this is a subtle sign that AGCO is not confident that Ml customers would be satisfied with the machines. I am pretty sure that JD, Case and Cat did not require personal guarantees for the machines they financed to Machinerylink. During my time there, we had a few more customer request for NH combines, but I didn't hear of any for AGCO combines, but most of the those inquiries would have routed in through the KC sales office. There may have been a few , but not wide spread. The AGCO offset header _ feederhouse made it much more difficult to match up or find headers. As a general rule, Ml does not provide headers as so many different versions are needed through out their market area of twenty some states.

Hmmm, Being the cream of the "orange" crop is nice, but that may not be worth enough when customers are wanting a Case of red or green Deere apples and yellow Cats. I know, poor metaphor. It is good that Ml takes such a risk while enabling many mid-size and large farmers use latest technology combines. With such a high continued growth rate and a such a large fleet of combines, things may not be too shakey there. Also, adding more makes of combines creates a significant increase in challenges associated with concave stocking, FSR training, and sales rep training, across a very wide crop area. The Ml model works. Perhaps the AGCO dealers would want to create their own Gleanerlink.
