Combines Will the AirJet Chaffer help meIJ

A quick, easy way to stop overloading the return is to install the air deflector in the fan. If you can get one, it should really help blow the MOG out the back over the chaffer.

Marvin Gordon will probably be posting shortly. But until then, read farm kid 2's review on the deflector. If you decide it will do the trick, great. If not or one is'nt available, its time to look at other options the machine mey have for you. I'm sure the ruber air dam is in place on the chaffer, but is there one on the shoe sieveIJ I had to put one on my machine. It stopped air from escaping from the back of the shoe. I believe your problem is starting right where the material drops onto the chaffer. It is dropping on in clumps. The air blast cant break it up fast enough and so much chaff and weeds will drop down to the shoe too soon. If you have three sections on your chaffer, close the front all the way. let the stuff shake a bit more before it enters the air blast. If you are on level ground but you have hill side dividers on the chaffer, remove them. They will slow the sticky material down to much and again will overload the shoe. One other thing I dont have any way of knowing is, how is the distribution of material on the sievesIJ If the threshing is tough, sometimes the sieves will be overloaded on one side or the other. This too will cause problems trying to keep chaff from the shoe. If all else fails I have a tailings elevator design that will do the trick, but it is'nt something you can do right now. Its kind of a winter project. If you want to see it I can send pics.
