Only damage here was from no rain all season long. Sure could have used some of the rain from Ike but only got two and a half drops. Any shelling going on thereIJ

A little in So. Cen. KS, but from the other direction. We are however, receiving calls about down corn reels from MO, Il, KY, TN, IN and OH. It's likely to be a mess over that way.

Tim we had the wind also but lucked out and didn't have much damage here 20 miles west of Memphis. Areas a few miles further west and north had lots of downed stuff though. We got zero rainfall out of it also. Had we been wet we would have lots down. Thats the only thing that saved us.

I live in the extreme NEIN area. Some corn has the stalk broke off above the ear others are almost on the ground. The corn that died from lack of rain is down the most. I have several acres that are like this. From the end of June to labor day I got less than one inch total of rain. I'm going to start shelling this week depending on how wet the corn is in the greener areas of the fields.

about 70% done in corn county ave will be less than 100 bu. BEFORE the wind , the damage from IKE will take andother 10-15% out - beans will be a disaster again. Ain't life grandIJ

I've shelled about 100 acres and it's in the 80 bushel range but I'm in the worst and it should get better after another 100 acres. Half of my corn is bottom land and I believe it will run 150 or hopefully better. Beans are another story. The beans behind wheat I have from 90% stand to no stand because of lack of moisture. Whats up looks fair to good but needs a soaking rain. Cotton in the area looks bad it will be a lot of half bale or less cotton this year...Oh well, I guess next year will be better.
