Big Al, I think I gave you a crop report the last time you requested one so I'll try it again. Here in central KS. we had about 3" of sleet. Very little snow and no freezing rain at all, just sleet for about 24hrs. But that was good! It amouted to well over 1" of moisture. South east of here about 75 miles they had 24hrs. of freezing rain. That caused broken trees and down power lines all over the place. lot of poeple won't be getting power till some time next week. I think most of OK. received pretty good moiture in some form or other also. S.W. Kansas got left out again for the most part and that is where they really needed some good moisture. I've read reports that some wheat fields will be abandoned in that area. Hope this helps. What's it like up in the north countryIJ K.A.

Thanks for the reply Unit 2 life in the Great White North has been rather cold lately we have had about a week of low temps. at around 35 below zero. We also have about 2' of snow on the ground but on the upside it has now made the ice on the lakes thick enough to drive out there with our pickups for ice fishing which has been pretty good lately. Well thanks for the reply and take care

Here in SW Oklahoma the wheat was looking bad about half hadn't came up yet and the rest looked bad. we had 2 to 3 inches of rain and 3to5 inches of ice!!! power went out wed. morning and just came on here sat night been cold with no heat. lot of places wont get power for weeks. maybe after the thaw there'll be enough moisture for the wheat. at best a 25bu_acre avg. would be good here in washita county.

Big Al - Winter wheat looks bad in S.W. Okla. Worst drought in 60+ years. No wheat pasture this year and many have replanted late. Some wheat still not up yet and spotty other places. Freezing rain this week, expect about 1" moisture after thaw. If weather warms up, should be able to tell if it helped to sprout replanted wheat. Will make for poor crop and late cutting this year.
