i have two reels a 18 and 16 ft that are mostly complete and would sell really cheap. i am located in central il, near decatur. James

Many, many years ago, I helped my dad put new bats on a reel. He bought 'resaw' boards from the lumber yard. They were about 3_8" thick and un-planed. I think they were about 6 inches wide. He insisted that all the boards be cut to length, then we stacked all 6 of them, measured where the holes were to be, and drilled all the holes through the stack. With all the holes being in the exact same place, we ended up with a nice straight reel. Ed in MT

we had to replace ours also, we found a really hard wood called 3_4" angle iron it's both cheap and durable
