Nope not NH's fault for the closure. A guy from Australia managed the dealership and he had to many people working for him. I've herd people say he had 20 people working in the back. He also gave to good of deals. The dealership was just managed wrong. Not saying anything bad about him being from Australia, just saying he is Australian.

I've bought parts at that dealership and now that you mention it, he seemed to have alot of people working everywhere; - even in the office. My local NH dealer always complained that Woodstock was a "company store", yet another dealer told me that Woodstock was privately-owned, and had been privately-owned since Cold Springs Farms were involved with it. I must say that Woodstock seemingly always had the parts I needed when other dealers didn't; - perhaps they were overstocked. I will miss Woodstock New Holland!

Ya I was told that Cold Springs owned it but then I was told that some guy from a middle eastern country that was now living here in Canada owned it. Cold Springs runs all NH so wonder what they will do now.

Cold Springs bought into the dealership when it was still owned by Beckham's; - in fact, I think the dealership was called Beckham's Cold Springs at one time. As far as getting NH parts and service goes, I guess Mitchell and St. Mary's will be doing a better business.

Interesting, didn't know that. Ya they probably will. Same with Chestermens in tillsonburg will get more business. You see alot of NH equipment running in fields around Woodstock New Holland. I wonder how many will got to another dealer. Vincents, St.Clair Wilkersons and Huron tractor ain't that farm. Neither is Elliots. Oh well.

A very reliable source at New Holland tolled me Woodstock New Holland was a company store. If there was alot of employees working there it was because New Holland had them on their payroll. There will probably be more dealership closures in the future as all companies want bigger territories for fewer dealers just like farming is going with fewer bigger farms

Yes, changing colours might be a viable option for many farmers. I know Woodstock New Holland had a pretty viable combine business, and I believe a number of farmers would have bought New Holland simply on account of Woodstock's good service. I think New Holland would be very foolish to NOT try and entice another dealer into Woodstock, but then again, New Holland turned its back on the Exeter area years ago. It seems to be a trend.

Hello JD, I farm in southwestern Ontario, between Exeter and St. Mary's. In addition, I farm 400 acres southwest of london, about an hour from the Canada_US border.

SlVTRNDGRN, Agco was that stupid here in Il. A couple years ago the biggest Gleaner dealer in Il.went out and they never did get one in there. How much of that business is gone forever to AgcoIJ I still dont understand things like that. Illinois Gleaner
