I've got a little lost in your question, but my reaction ( I think ) is.... if "whatever" colour company is doing the right thing, and i had no other reason to be displeased, then yes, id certainly be willing to try them again.

I, too, was a little lost with your question, but I think you're referring to the question that if any other color had the crankshaft problems that Deere had, would we remain with that color. My answer is (and has been, in the past) YES; - I would, so long as the service levels that Deere demonstrated during this problem was EQUAllED by that "other" color. I can answer this question without doubt, since it's been my local AGCO dealer's service levels that has kept what little "orange and red" there is on my farm; - it certainly isn't on account of anything AGCO has done for me. In fact, I'm really getting sick and tired of the "creative excuses" AGCO has been creating lately, but I'll leave this discontent for another posting! MG

How would I know the next color would not have the same problem. THis way I know I have the latest Deere has to offer.

Illinois, you need to put your Green hat on before you come in here. lOl just kidding I knew what you were saying but I had to scratch my head too. If I had a JD tractor and they took care of me, yes I would keep the tractor and it wouldnt bother me much. Actually its pretty much the experience I have had with all colors on a matter of this magnitude.

If that was the only problem the combine had, I would let them put the new crank in and continue on. If the machine was problematic, then I would trade for a different color. I did this with our MF 760 and traded it for a JD 8820. It was the last Massey we had and the first JD we ever bought. Been with them ever since. Our Ford Versatile 976 was a joke so I traded it for a JD 8960 and have had JD ever since.

The clutch went out of our John Deere 8570 4WD tractor at 1948 hours and then the engine went out of our 9660 sts combine at 347 hours. John Deere has been a main stay on our farm for years but if either one of these machines has a problem again they are going to be replaced by one of a different colour.

That is an exellent example of what I was asking.I think your situation should be taken care of. If it were me I would have the same feelings IG

When the clutch went out of our tractor at 1948 hours the warrenty was over. Deere just laughed at us when we suggested that they help with the bill. It cost us $ 6000.00 to fix the clutch and $ 2000.00 to rent a tractor. When the motor went out of the combine they did put a complete new engine in it but the service manager at our dealership had to fight for it. Deere wanted them to pull our engine out, patch it up and send it back to the field. The service manager said they either put a new engine in the combine or they would leave it sit. Deere then bragged to us how they put a new engine in the combine. We didn't bother to tell them we knew it wasn't without a fight. I used to live and breath John Deere but not any more. Their products are not what they used to be and the company dosen't care about their customers much either.

We bought a RBX 562 CNH round baler in 03. It was a few thousand $$$ cheaper than a 567 Deere. Boy was that a mistake. Thing was broke down every hundred bales. From forming belts to sensors to rollers to clutches. On and on and on. The last piece of red equiptment on the spread before the baler, was a new 1066 IH. Thing darn near put the ol man in the loonie bin. Should've known better about the baler, but some lessons are learned the hard way. After that 1066 went on a one way trip, we got a 4640 JD. Been with JD ever since and darn happy to. Got rid of the RBX baler last summer for a 567 with cover edge net wrap and mega wide PU. Baled approx. 1600 72" bales in 5.5 days (without leaving the tractor cab, except to put in more net wrap). That's more then then that POS CNH ever did. CNH had a bad attitude and crappy customer support too. We'll never be in their door again. I'm sure that our experience isn't the norm....but it sure put a bad taste in the mouth.
