You're right, and think about how much material is being cleaned in that small area too. Is bigger betterIJ Mmm, can someone say "Physics!"

Me too and I wouldn't go quite that far. Ever work on or been around a Belarus (Rostov Don) combineIJ I do think that Deere combines are very economically produced (i.e., low cost material, durability is often times relavtive to cost). However, an STS cleaning shoe does extrmemly well for its size. It competes with cleaning shoes twice its size.

Wheaty they post that because very few realy no any fact about anything! So they ask there Dad's, and he will tell them anything just to get rid of them. So that's Gospel to them! So they then post.

I know. I'm just like alot of the people getting stir-crazy sitting inside. Sorry, I'll try to watch it from now on. I just can't resist a good color war. Back when I was a Kid I use to listen to to old timers argue over John Deere and IHC, Now It still John Deere and all other brands they argue about now. Have a good day Bob

FYI, I had the opportunity to run a 9860sts against a CR970 in flat land and hillsides for corn harvest. The 9860 could easily outperform the 970. The ground speed was faster on the 9860, less separator and cleaner loss AND a better grain tank sample. The farmer (owner of 970) was very disappointed w_the CR, even after factory guys came out to help improve the capacity. He stated the 970 w_self leveling shoe had less capacity than his 9750. Although the cleaning area is smaller the new fan creates large volumes of air and even distribution = great capacity. You can even turn the fan too fast and blow CORN out of the machine.
