cant help you with much of your question. The 850 in question was built in late 1985. I think all 50 series built before '79 were red and white cabs.

It is probably an 84 and up with a grain loss monitor unless it was installed after market. All 800 series machines are gray cabs and the late 700 series machines from 1979 to 81 were gray, before that they are red and white. I have a nice 860 for sale in Il. deliver anywhere. 618-753-3644

where and when is the saleIJ Almost never see one anymore around the midwest area here. I live about in the middle of the four state region of Ne, Ia, Mo, and Ks.

I had a 1984 850 that I bought new and put 2400 hours on. It was a real good combine, but when I was ready to trade, my local dealer had sold out and MF was on pretty shakey grounds, so I wasn't too excited about buying another Massey. Then when I found out what my 850 was worth compared to other brands, I really became discouraged. I would buy another 850, but I would have to buy it really worth the money, and have a dealer within a reasonable distance. I have a Grey Cab 750 that I bought worth the money several years ago and we use for a second combine. It is a real good machine. We ran over 500 acres thru it this fall with less than $125.00 in repairs.
