I used a Garmin III+ with a differential module from Garmin on a Harvestmaster Sugar Beet Yield Monitor a few years ago. Had plenty of accuracy and cost about $700 back then versus the $5500 they wanted for a Beeline DGPS that they normally used. For the display I used a Toshiba 133Mhz laptop (pretty old and slow for these days) and not only had a much better display but I could play games between trucks! (worked a lot at night and had to stay awake) The computer cost about as much as the regular Yieldmaster Computer, but I could use it year-round in the office. This system worked pretty good and I ended up saving about $7500 by using these components. You will want to have a VERY good field rep for the monitor that knows computers and how they communicate to get it all to talk to each other but mine seemed to work just fine. Another plus was that the yield information was already in my office computer when I got done so I didn't have to transfer it with the cards so I could work with it and print it out. Good luck!
