Combines Yields

Have not done any shelling yet, but have chopped some.The Pioneer reps came down to test yields and take samples. It checked 30+ tons_ac and they figured it would make around 300 bu_ac if shelled and it could have used more nitrogen. I guess I should tell the rest of the story. It was planted with a 6 row planter with spliters to get 11- 15 inch rows with a 30 inch skip. Finial stand was around 41,000.I think alot of corn yields in southern middle Tn. will run 150-200 bu_ac.

I'm in east central Iowa,still a month away from harvest.lots of white mold and SDS in the beans,some fields showing 20-80% damage,some showing very little.We're in a wind damage area,where the corn is flat 80bpa will be a struggle,ears have 2 less rows around than last year and a fair amount of tipping back.Stand may compensate some,but guessing would say the corn is 20-40 bpa less than last year,could be in the 130-150 bu.range.Beans look like 35-40 bpa.

I am in east central Iowa just north of the Quad Cities about 40 miles. I am not impressed with what I see around here and further north. lots of uneven stands and the even stands are yellow from lack of nitrogen, you can really tell who put all their nitrogen over the top. You can also tell where tile is needed. The 20" corn went down from a wind storm three weeks ago and north of me allot corn is flat regardless of row width. Beans have allot of white mold and SDS is rearing it's ugly head. Also the last week of cold shut the beans down for a few days. All in all I would say 140-160 will take the corn (last year it was 190-200)and beans will be 45-50 which is better than last year (25-40). Pete Hinrichsen

Here in NW PA, we are cautiously optimistic, corn looking good, but behind due to lack of heat. Frost needs to stay away until October for us to get maturity. Should go 120-140bu_ac (good yields for us) but it ain't in the bin yet!

Central KS north west of wichita 50 miles. Irrigated corn looks like 180 to 200. dry land corn 110 to 130. Irrigated soybeans look like 65 to 75 and dry land beans look to make 35 to 50

Central Minnesota had frost.Where I live the beans got nipped pretty good, the corn got hit hard in low areas top 2 to 3' of corn plant killed on about 20% of my acres. I drove 100 mi. south on sunday could still see scattered frost damage.

central Ohio, beans should be in the 40+ range, Corn suffered nitrogen loss with all the rain, should be 140-150 range.

I'm in south central-southwest Nebraska and 3 weeks ago we had very good yield prospects but with no rain for a month, fields are drying up fast! What could have been 100 bushel dryland corn has gone down to 60 or less and is losing more everyday. Dryland beans were over 35, now will struggle to make 10 or so. Irrigated corn will be good but not great like last year due to the cool July. Beans look real good though, maybe the best in several years. Most of Nebraska, western KS and eastern CO is the same way. I'm thinking an 11 billion bushel corn crop will be hard to achieve with so many areas just not quite up to par.
