Combines Zero the Concaves

Digger, No special tools are needed. With the middle concave removed, raise the concaves and at the same time turn the rotor by hand. When the first rotor bar makes contact with the concaves you have zero. Adjust the front and the back to make contact at the same time with that 1_2 draw bolt on the front concave. Then lower the concaves about one turn and set the gage to zero. Also the rotor bars should make first contact with number seven and eight concave bars counting down from where the top and bottom concaves are bolted together. And that is why you need the middle concave removed so you can look in there and see where the rotor bars are hitting the concaves. If the rotor bars are not hitting number seven and eight concave bars first the concave can be adjusted from left to right on the right side of the rotor cage. Remove the front shield on the right side of the combine and loosen the five bolts on the front and the back wall of the rotor cage. Then adjust the front and back 1_2 draw bolts to move the concave either to the left or to the right so the rotor bars will hit the seven and eight concave bars first. Sounds complicated but it's a piece of cake. Good luck! K.A.
