Is this low oil pressure according to the gauge? Could be a problem with the oil pressure sending unit. I suppose you checked the dipstick for the quantity and quality of the oil.......

I'm not familiar with the transmission in a 680 but the smaller ones with the 5 speed have a clutch adjustment screw and jam nut on the front cover of the case. If it's set too tight it will slip the clutch
