    Farmland selling high

I click the link and it gives me an error. As far as farmland selling high, everything is pretty much selling high in my area. It's a buyers market for sure. I'm not sure why, other than interest rates being pretty low.

    Yellowstone

I see season 4 kicks off on November 7th. We are pretty excited here in our house. It's on Paramount here. I had to check to be sure we still got the station. I don't want to miss it when it starts.

Have phones ended walkie-talkies on farm?

We still use them from time to time. It's nice when you have 3 or 4 connected. You can talk amongst yourselves without having to call 3 people. I think they are fun too!

    Purple sunflower?

That is gorgeous! My wife would love it as purple is her favorite color. I'm going to go take a look at Amazon right now. I would think it's too late to plant. When do you plant fall bulbs?

    Neighbor and their chickens

The kids have stepped up and have been helping more. They love picking up the eggs each day. I agree that chickens aren't cute, but they are an easy animal to have around the farm.

    Worms in our tomatoes

I sent the children out to pick the tomatoes from our garden. They brought a ton in but I swear most have little holes on the bottom. They look like little worm holes. I don't see worms but what else can it be?

    Chili, cocoa and family

That does sound like a good time. My wife has been asking to invite the family over. I think I will share this with her. We have simmer cookouts, this sounds like a great fall cookout.

    Back to virtual schooling?

No plans for that right now. Our schools start next week so I'm hopeful they will go back. Cases are on the rise here too. I bet the numbers will be higher once school starts. I know here they are mandating masks still.

    Mission BBQ

Has anyone eaten at a Mission BBQ? I ate at one in Ohio last week. I was impressed! There were several military personnel eating there too. I heard we might be getting one here.

    Old tractors

Yeah I'm with you Marty. I don't have any that are just sitting around either. I do have one that is getting pretty old. Maybe I'll let my wife plant flowers around it.

Secretaries Haaland and Vilsack Announce Implementation of New Pay Initiatives for Wildland Firefighters

I couldn't agree more... this is a super risky job. Give them some more money! I wonder where all this money is coming from though?

    Lumber still king

I really don't know how easy it is to get into lumber. I would think you would need to plant several trees and wait for them to grow. I doubt that lumber prices will stay that high for that long.

    Chili! Hot or not

It's almost time again for chili and I can't wait. My wife is starting to like spice a bit more. This year we are going to try a sweet chili too.

    Old tractors

I never really thought about it being the burial ground. I like that idea. I did go talk with a couple of younger guys and they wouldn't sell. They said it has too much sentimental value.

    Bone spurs, plantar fasciitis

Sounds like a lot of us have had this! I also used inserts in my boots and sneakers. I wear sneakers more now than before (good ones with a lot of arch support). Try looking for some good sneakers, I switched to Asics.

    Torrential rain

Shallow trenches between the rows sounds like a great idea. We have had the same problems and we hilled up our rows. So the water drains down and off the fields. I hope it stops raining so hard for you.

    Old tractors

I can't tell you how many older tractors I see sitting idle in fields. It's sad really. It's almost like old farms (abandoned) and the new owners or children of the old farmers just letting the tractors rust! I've stopped at a few places to see if I could buy a couple. No one sells them!

    Mobile butchers

I've actually never heard of this before. It sounds pretty clever, maybe for some smaller farms. I don't think I would use it though, probably expensive. I'd be interested to know how many people do use it and how many cattle they have butchered each time.

    Neighbor and their chickens

I like the idea of having the children do more with the chickens that we do have. They loved to help when they were chicks, not so much now. Great idea!!

    My trick to quail snacks

That is a fantastic idea. I'm sure the birds love it too. I never really thought of luring them by using a light. Thanks for sharing your tip.
