Torrential rain

We have had two days of torrential downpours! It's so bad that two fields are looking like pools! I really hope all the rain doesn't hurt our crop.
What do you do for this? When it's a drought, we can water. When it's crazy amounts of heavy rain, we are at the mercy of our runoffs.

Can you redirect the water by creating shallow trenches between your rows of crops? It has worked for me in the past when my crops were getting waterlogged.

Shallow trenches between the rows sounds like a great idea. We have had the same problems and we hilled up our rows. So the water drains down and off the fields.
I hope it stops raining so hard for you.

I've had an entire field of corn suffer some damage before because the rain was beating down so hard. I don't really have a great idea for preventing it, but I will say that intercropping helped. When the corn fell over, the stalks helped protect the squash and climbing beans, so at least I didn't lose those.
